OUR STORY

In the bustling creative hub that is Nashville, TN, Women For Sheriff co-creators, Cybelle Elena and Elizabeth Cook met in 2018. Cybelle quickly became Elizabeth’s exclusive costume designer for stage wear in her musical performance career. As their creative journey morphed from stage costumes into street wear, they realized they had a mutual mission. Elizabeth had long wanted to create a line of more sophisticated work and play wear for rural-minded women, a la those back home in her beloved deep south. Cybelle has been edging towards her own fashion line for several years and has developed a number of successful outlets in the field. Together they birthed Women For Sheriff, a lifestyle brand dedicated to unique, stylish, fun-loving, hard-working men and women everywhere.

IN THE BEGINNING

The early days of Women For Sheriff came from small bolts of limited, dead stock fabric that Cybelle had collected over the years from estate sales and antique shops. She created a simple, yet classic pattern for overalls, originally designed to outfit Elizabeth on her Circle Network Television show, Upstream. She took the left over vintage fabric and made up as many pairs overalls as she could until the bolt ran out. Elizabeth named the different patterns from lyrics in her songs, styled them out with her artist merch, and modeled them on her social media. These overalls made up the first Women For Sheriff limited-run, and it sold out quickly! Exploring ways to secure larger quantities of fabric and make the brand more inclusive, Cybelle used her fine art background to illustrate original textiles, inspired by Elizabeth’s life, lyrics and legacy. Today, Women for Sheriff stands poised to bring exclusive, unique designs to friends and fans everywhere. From overalls to hats, swimwear, aprons and tea towels, and even a buildable cookbook that includes Elizabeth’s personal recipes, stories, and family photos. Elizabeth and Cybelle have many more ideas up their sleeves for the future of Women For Sheriff.
